The Swan

The Swan, situated metres from the Thames, dates back to 1770 and was named after the ancient ceremony of Swan Upping which is performed on the Thames each July. The first written mention of The Swan occurs in 1770, when it appears on the Walter Leigh Manorial maps when it was then just a small alehouse.

Recently renovated, you can now sit back and relax after a long day and enjoy a drink in comfort in a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. The Swan offers Young’s finest cask conditioned Bitter, Special and seasonal ales, supported by an exciting range of continental lagers including Peroni and Heineken. Wines from around the world – carefully selected by their wine merchants Cockburn and Campbell, along with a wide variety of Whiskey’s, Brandy’s and Liquors to temp you with after a meal.
