Re: Wellington Close aka Walton Flats

Interesting yellow coverings over all the windows in the first block.

Must make for an interesting ambience inside

Any news on the new shop opening. I was thought it was due in autumn this year.

I don’t want to miss anything

Pong in The Swan

It seems there is an on going problem with the drains..the whole place stinks. Staff discreetly spraying air freshener doesn’t really cure it.

It doesn’t fit well with paying £17 for two glasses of wine or having a meal at the moment so beware before you book.

Re: Walton Housing Market

Yep still nothing moving no viewings that we’ve seen anyway.

Estate agents must be feeling the pinch. Maybe they are responsible for overvaluing and fuelling unrealistic expectations.

Re: Wellington Close aka Walton Flats

Well I just drove past and (I shall eat my words) some of the original cladding/fascia has been removed so it’s all going ahead!

Brilliant for the residents and the whole town.

Hedgehog; central Walton!

Delighted to find a Hedgehog in the garden tonight. Haven’t seen one for years. She comes ‘n goes through the old door cut in the fence for next doors arthritic cat. I remember Chris Packhams advice to give the little guys a gap in the fence to explore other gardens. All I had was water and Chihuahu...

Re: Excel pool. Filthy

Popped in today after avoiding the place for many months. The teaching pool is broken cannot be raised up or down. Apparently for the last 6 weeks. The jacuzzi is out of order. The toilet in the ladies changing room is still out of order. I didn’t check this one with my own eyes. Might go again afte...

Bridge Street Shanley Homes

I see on ‘Rightmove’ that Shanley Homes are advertising the new build apartments for sale in Bridge Street.

Around 400k gets you two bedrooms..and a parking space.

Is anything selling at the moment?

New flats at old dairy site

Anyone else noticed that construction at the old dairy site in the high street has gone into slow-mo?

Except for a couple of blokes sweeping and tidying up down the side nothing meaningful has happened for months.

Short-termism..

Just demolish the whole town ‘n build a huge block of flats with a runway on top.

There, fixed

Re: Stonegate pubs - charging more for England games beer?

I was at the Regent for a qualifier and a 30p surcharge was levied on all orders. Apparently to pay for the ‘Bouncers’ I vowed not to go back on a match day, the place was rammed and didn’t feel particularly safe. I Certainly wouldn’t take Mrs Davros for the next match on Saturday. As you can imagin...
