Walton Bridge crash - 16th May 2018

Post by stupiddog » Wed May 16, 2018 6:59 pm

Does anyone know what happened here? It would have been faster to walk from Shepperton to Walton than take the car...

There was a small white car (possibly a Peugeot) in the middle facing the town just on the bridge side of the River Road junction. The front of it was pretty beaten up with wheels pointing left. It meant the bridge was down to one lane with police directing traffic. I presume there was another car involved which had been moved by the time I got through at about 7pm after 1.5hrs+ of barely moving on Fordbridge Road.

Traffic rubbish again at the moment (another hour spent crawling along Fordbridge Road). Combination of roadworks and an accident on Marshall's Roundabout (police in attendance).

Stuck in traffic last night till 7.30pm went both ways back - over Sunbury Bridge traffic at a standstill
Then went through Shepperton trying to avoid the standstill and it was worse with traffic backed up through Shepperton High street.

This morning was unbelievable with the traffic at Walton Bridge made me late for work.

These stupid road works are driving us crazy!!
