Walton Bridge crash - 16th May 2018

Does anyone know what happened here? It would have been faster to walk from Shepperton to Walton than take the car...

There was a small white car (possibly a Peugeot) in the middle facing the town just on the bridge side of the River Road junction. The front of it was pretty beaten up with wheels pointing left. It meant the bridge was down to one lane with police directing traffic. I presume there was another car involved which had been moved by the time I got through at about 7pm after 1.5hrs+ of barely moving on Fordbridge Road.
